Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ offers several academic scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and payment plan options to assist transfer students in paying for college tuition.

 

Transfer Student Merit Scholarships

Students must have a minimum of 12 semester hours of earned post-secondary college coursework , be accepted to the Mount, and plan to attend full-time to be considered for a Transfer Scholarship. All Transfer Scholarships are renewable if the student remains full-time and meets satisfactory academic progress standards. Part-time students and students with previous bachelor’s degrees are not eligible. Earned postsecondary credit and GPA used for scholarship consideration will be a calculation of all college/university coursework . No applications are required for the scholarships listed below unless otherwise noted.

*If you have graduated high school in the most recent academic year, and are planning to transfer and enroll at the Mount full-time for the spring semester please talk with an admissions representative to review scholarship opportunities.  

*Students who do not meet the Transfer Scholarship criteria, but enroll full-time and are earning their first bachelor's degree may be eligible for a $14,000 Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ Award. Please contact admission@msj.edu for details.

Scholarship Award Eligibility Information
Connections Scholarship $2,500/year While enrolled at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, Ivy Tech Community College, Kentucky Community & Technical College, or Sinclair Community College, a  application must be submitted. Requirements to meet the Connections Scholarship include an earned associate’s degree from Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, Ivy Tech Community College, Sinclair, or Kentucky Community & Technical College with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Connections Scholars must be enrolled in full-time status (12 credit hours minimum) at the Mount. This award can be stacked on other eligible merit scholarships. Applications and transcripts must be received two weeks prior to the start of the semester you plan to begin at the Mount. First-time freshman are ineligible to apply. 
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship  $1,000/year A cumulative college GPA of 3.25, an earned associate degree from a regionally accredited institution and verification of PTK membership are required. This award can be in addition to other eligible merit scholarships. This scholarship is renewable if the student is full-time and maintaining a 3.0 college GPA. Part-time students and students with previous bachelor's degrees are not eligible.
Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ Renaissance $500-$1,000/year Planned participation in: The Art Guild, Ensemble, Peak Productions, Theatre, University Band, University Singers, or Writer's Block. Students may only receive one award, regardless of participation in multiple groups. Does not require separate application. Click here for the contact and additional information. 
Esports Scholarship $2,000/year Students who are enrolled full-time and participate in Esports practices, team workouts, and competitive events. Students participating in other NCAA Division III sports are not eligible for this scholarship. Contact Head Coach Christian.Duvall@msj.edu for more information. 
Moore-Eckel Adult Scholarship $750/year

This scholarship is available to current and future Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ adult students. In order to qualify for this scholarship, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours of coursework per academic year. A completed FAFSA application and additional application form must be submitted prior to deadline for consideration.

Mission Ambassador Award $2,000/year

Incoming students; interested in serving as student campus ministers through the Office of Mission Integration. Students applying must be actively involved in a faith tradition and exhibit an openness to persons of other faith traditions.

Choose Ohio First (cITe) Scholarship $8,000/year

Ohio residents only. Consideration for scholarship goes to incoming students that are double majoring in Computer Science (CS) with a concentration in Social Computing and another major of their choice. Learn more at .

 

Be the Change Transfer Student  Scholarship  $19,500/year

Students must have a minimum of 45 semester hours of transferable credit with 22 of those hours transferring from a community college/two-year college. Students must also meet a minimum of a 2.75 cumulative transfer GPA, be accepted to the Mount, and plan to attend full-time towards a licensure degree in education to be considered for a Be the Change Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship is renewable if the student remains full-time and meets satisfactory academic progress standards towards a degree in education. Part-time students and students with previous bachelor’s degrees are not eligible. Transfer credit and transfer GPA must come from a regionally accredited institution. Students who are awarded the Be the Change Transfer Student Scholarship are ineligible to receive the Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ Award or a merit-based transfer scholarship. MOSAIC Scholarship     $2,500/year   

The MOSAIC Scholars Program invites high-achieving prospective students from historically underrepresented populations and students who commit to promoting a deeper understanding of and appreciation for diversity to apply and engage with the program.

Students accepted in the MOSAIC Scholars Program will be eligible for the MOSAIC Scholarship. The MOSAIC Scholarship value is $2,500 annually. Students can "stack" this scholarship with other awards, which means multiple scholarships can be used for student expenses. In addition, the scholarship is renewable for participants that meet program requirements.

Students accepted to the MOSAIC Scholars Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Be accepted to Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ as an incoming first-year, adult, or transfer student for the fall semester.
  • Minimum of 2.50 GPA.
  • Demonstrated leadership/co-curricular involvement with diversity, equity, and inclusion activities (outlined in a personal statement).
  • Completed personal statement.

Lions 1st Scholars Award   $1,000/year    

The Lions 1st Scholars Community seeks students who are first-generation college students (i.e. neither parent nor guardian has earned a bachelor's degree). All academic majors and interests are welcomed. The mission of the Lions 1st Scholars Community is to provide a supportive and welcoming community for first-generation college students at Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§. The Lions 1st Scholars Community intentionally connects first-generation students to faculty, staff, peers, resources, information and experiences that promote academic success, a sense of belonging, and successful university navigation.

First-generation college students who participate in the Lions 1st Scholars Community as first-year students or mentors.

Leading Men Fellowship (LMF) Connections Scholars Program Scholarship

 

$20,000/year

The Literacy Lab’s Leading Men Fellowship creates opportunities for young men of color and increases representation in the field of education. LMF participants must apply for the Mount’s Leading Men Fellowship Connections Scholars program and scholarship during their second semester of their LMF program, and after completion of the first semester of LMF.

Grants

A grant is a financial aid award typically based on your financial need, and it does not need to be repaid. Grants come from multiple sources including the Mount, the federal government and the Ohio state government.
