Doctorate in economics with focus on financial theory, international trade and finance and labor economics from Southern Methodist University, where he also completed a master's degree in economics. Master's in economics from North Texas State (now University of North Texas).

 

Biography:

Professor Rashed served as Dean of the School of Business at Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ in Cincinnati – Ohio from 2013-2020. Additionally, he served as Dean of the College of Business at Northern Michigan University from 2010-2013. Previously, he was at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served as a professor of economics and international business, chair of the department of economics and human resources, and the founder and the director of the Center for International Business at Xavier University, winning numerous awards for teaching, research and service. Professor Rashed earned his doctorate in economics with focus on financial theory, international trade and finance and labor economics from Southern Methodist University, where he also completed a master's degree in economics. He also has a master's in economics from North Texas State (now University of North Texas).

His work has appeared in The Canadian Journal of Development Studies, International Review of Economics and Finance, Global Business and Economics Review, International Journal of Economics and Business Research, and the Management Decision Journal, among others.

Professor Rashed has served as consultant and advisor on business accreditation and curriculum design in higher education both in the USA and internationally, and has served as a professional consultant in forensic economics to major law firms in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, and served as an expert witness in the United States Federal, local and state courts. He has served as consultant to universities, corporations and government agencies and is active in the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) as a mentor and an evaluator. He served on the board of Northern Initiative Bank and the Center of Rural Economic Development from 2010-2013. Currently he serves as a board member to the Center for Rural Affairs and Community Development (an NGO based in IBA Africa).

Professor Rashed teaches undergraduate and MBA / MSOL classes in economics, international trade, and global economic issues. While at Xavier, he was the recipient of the Delta Sigma Pi Teacher of the Year Award in 2000, the Executive MBA Program Professor of the Year in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, and the General Electric (GE- MBA) Professor of the Year Award in 2006 and 2007.
