Biography:

Jan Maltinsky has served as full time Clinical Faculty at Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ since 2015.  Her primary role is to instruct and supervise graduate students in the online Reading Science Evidence Based Reading Practicum.  She also currently teaches courses in Phonics and Linguistics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as the undergraduate course in Reading Assessment.  Prior to joining the faculty at Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§, Ms. Maltinsky was employed by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center as an Educational Specialist from 2010-2015. In this role, she directed the reading component to an NIH funded research grant, both training and supervising teachers to deliver a scientifically based reading intervention to students throughout the Cincinnati area.  Earlier in her career, she enjoyed being a Montessori elementary teacher, teaching students grades one through three, in a multiage classroom.  She holds additional trainings in Orton-Gillingham, both beginning and advanced levels, as well as Lindamood-Bell. Ms. Maltinsky has worked for twenty years as a reading interventionist both at the Scottish Rite Learning Centers and in private practice, to help students overcome reading difficulties.   In addition to her supervisory experience at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, she also supervised Orton-Gillingham trainees at the Cincinnati and Dayton Scottish Rite Learning Centers and at Miami University.
