Carole Campbell Williams joined the Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ family in March of 2016, when her husband, H. James Williams, was announced as the 7th President of the Mount. She now represents The Mount as its “First Lady” and Ambassador. Since her arrival in Cincinnati, she has become active in the Greater Cincinnati area. She is a member of the Board of Directors at Bethany House Services and at Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. She is also a member of the Board of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, where she serves as the Board Treasurer. She is active in the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) and the Council of Independent Colleges and Universities (CIC) spouse programs.
On campus, Carole actively engages with students, faculty & staff, alumni, the Board of Trustees, and other University constituents by sponsoring, hosting, and co-hosting various programs, including health and wellness programs, and a variety of educational, cultural, and sporting events.
Carole engages regularly and actively with the Mount’s foundresses, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, in a number of ways. She hosts Christmas luncheons and socials, keeps the Sisters apprised of University activities, participates in events at the Motherhouse, and joins them and other Mount representatives on their Mission trips and Pilgrimages.
Carole was the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center's (“SBTDC”) State Finance Manager, responsible for financial operations of the State Headquarters and the 12-region network, including budgeting, reporting, funding, and audit oversight, as well as federal and state compliance and reporting. Prior to serving as the chief finance officer for the SBTDC, she served as a federal grants manager for Grand Valley State University and served as the contract administrator and liaison with GVSU financial and grants management operations. Carole also served as the director of the North Carolina Community Colleges off-campus associate-degree-in-business program and taught accounting for seven years. Finally, she has 10 years of national and international corporate finance experience with IBM, in New York, Washington DC, Zurich, Switzerland, and Tokyo, Japan.
Carole has served on advisory and governing boards for various community organizations, including The Conservancy of the Parthenon and Centennial Park of Nashville, the Council of Independent Colleges Presidential Spouses Planning Committee, Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build Committee, Nashville, and as the Treasurer for the Michigan Girl Scouts Shore-to-Shore Council Board of Directors. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was a member of The Links, Incorporated of Nashville.
Carole is a CPA, who earned the M.B.A at Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta, GA) and the Bachelor’s degree in Business, at the University of Michigan – Flint. She also completed courses in the University of Cincinnati’s Historical Preservation graduate program. She enjoys the preservation and restoration of historical facilities, distance running, enjoying the splendor of the ocean and now, learning to play the piano.
She and her husband reside in Delhi (west side of Cincinnati). They have two young-adult children, a son-in-law, and a very young grandson!
