Navigate Your Transition to
Ó£ÌÒɬ¸£Àû¼§ with Ease.

The transition to college is a big step. Our First-Year Programming equips you with the tools and support you need to thrive.

The transition to college is a transformative time for students and a period of great change and growth. The Mount's First-Year Programming is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to be successful during their college years and beyond. Through class workshops, hands-on activities, class discussions, and guidance from various campus professionals, students will work to develop stronger success habits in the areas of campus involvement, executive functioning skills, effective study strategies, financial literacy, health and wellness, and more.

First-year experience courses have become a crucial component of retention strategies for first-year and transfer students at colleges and universities nationwide. FYE 101 aims to  provide essential guidance for:

  • First-year and Transfer students new to the Mount, encouraging a sense of belonging on campus and an understanding of the many resources that the University provides.
  • Student-athletes looking for additional support on how to manage a very busy schedule that includes both academics and athletics.
  • Post-pandemic students who face learning challenges, including managing assignments, reducing reliance on technology, enhancing participation in class discussions, and fostering self-advocacy skills.
  • Lions First Scholarship awardees and other first-generation college students in navigating the higher education system.
  • Mosaic and Munoz Scholarship awardees who are promised programming and supplemental help for their transition to college.
